Hans Marinus van Dokkum was a Dutch watercolorist, draftsman, graphic artist and painter. He studied at the State Normal School for Drawing Instructors in Amsterdam. He taught at secondary schools in Utrecht, where he was a colleague of Ivan Ingen. He made village scenes, winter landscapes and self-portraits. His techniques were very varied.
