Jan Roëde - interior with figures

In 1999, there was an exhibition at Galerie de Compagnie in Dordrecht where I saw the work of Jan Roëde for the first time. (Book publication: Erik Slachter: Jan Roëde - an artist returns to his center. On the occasion of the exhibitions at the Cobra Museum Amstelveen and Galerie De Compagnie Dordrecht).
In 2012, I came across a work by Jan Roëde at an auction in Antwerp (Jordaens) that I bought. It had a very simple frame, minor damage at the top, and the board on which it was painted was warped.
I took it to a well-known framer in Maassluis, where the damage was professionally repaired, the work received a new (amazing!) floating frame that fits perfectly, and the board is no longer warped.
I showed the work to the curator of Galerie de Compagnie, who was very enthusiastic about it. I also showed photos of my work to members of the Jan Roëde Foundation in 2022 during the summer exhibitions at De Oude School in Kortenhoef (Book publication: Anne Marie Boorsma: Jan Roëde, Wonder in Color, on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name by "Kunst aan de Dijk" in Kortenhoef). They found the work to be typically Jan Roëde; the signature matches, as does the year, but they only had doubts about the fact that it was painted on board; Jan Roëde usually painted on canvas.
On ArtPrice, however, I find more than 10 works that have been sold in the past, all of them on board as well.
I have always had a lot of fun and enjoyed this work, but due to moving to a 17th-century building, it no longer fits.
