Jan Sierhuis was born and raised in Amsterdam. He painted expressively, abstractly and later, in the 1960s, figuratively. Well into his old age, he invited flamenco dancers to his farmhouse on the outskirts of Amsterdam. He associated frequently with the "Cobra" artists, but didn't want to be part of them himself.
The work is in an old frame with a mat. The glass is missing. The work itself is in good condition. A beautiful watercolor.
