Ria Fortuijn, born 22-11-1939 in Utrecht, textile artist. Education: The drawing course at the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. After her education she started working with textiles. “She uses realism, in which similarities and differences play a role, to shape her personal processing of feelings and perceptions. The different types of fabrics that she uses for her designs, such as silk, satin, velvet, lacquer and transparent fabrics and various colors of foil, are still a challenge for her to explore her themes of life, death, love, eroticism, animal and plant organisms. , sports and games, to be portrayed”.
