Marco Zanini, designer born in 1954 in Trento, studied architecture at the University of Florence. There he met Ettore Sottsass in 1975 at a Global Tools working group. After graduating, after working as a self-employed person during his studies, he went to work for Sottsass in Milan at Sottsass Associati. In 1981, he co-founded the Memphis design group. He designed furniture and objects as well as glassware, constructed from unusual combinations of shapes and colors at the time. During his career, Zanini has worked all over the world as an architect, designer and lecturer.
