Lourens Alma Tadema - Under the Roof of Blue Ionian Weather - Verkocht

A superb original antique lithograph print by Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema. Titled "Under the Roof of Blue Ionian Weather" this very large print is hand colored and exceptionally fresh. Printed on thick paper with very large margins. These prints were issued under the supervision of Alma Tadema himself, in 1901 and published by Arthur Tooth in London. It was printed in Munich.
The size of the actual print (the part that shows the painting) is 33" (84 cm) x 13-3/4" (35 cm). When I include the margins, the total measurements are 39-3/4" (101 cm) x 22-1/2" (57 cm). Condition of this print is excellent. I removed this print from the old original frame and as you can see in the photo's this print has discoloration along the edge from the old frame and there are small holes where the print was nailed to the frame. However, as the margins of this print are so large this is really no problem at all as this would fall behind the matting if the new owner should want to frame this print again. Or you could simply cut off the stained edges and you would still be left with a very generous margin.
