• He was born in Rheydt (Germany) in 1899, but grew up in Beegden (Netherlands). 
• He died in 1970. 
• He was not only a painter, but also a Roman Catholic priest. 
• His education included training at the National Academy in Amsterdam and at the Roman Catholic College (“RK Leergangen”) in Tilburg, where he was certified to teach. 
• In his career, he produced religious portraits, landscapes, and also worked in sculpture, glazier (glass work). 
• He was awarded the Cultural Prize of the province of Limburg (1956) for his artistic work. 
• One of his known works is a posthumous portrait of Professor Martinus Cobbenhagen, painted in 1955, which is held in Tilburg (Cobbenhagen Building). 
• Christie’s lists a self-portrait by Jean Adams, signed and dated 21 March 1933.
